I’m preaching in Joburg today.
And it’s always fun! The sheer joy of Jubilee’s worship is something special. But it’s more than the worship. I find preaching in a friend’s church is always a treat.
Our friends Kelvin & Sharon, pastors of Jubilee, have forged a significant Kingdom work. A work that has required immense courage.
Courage is an undervalued asset.
It doesn’t get enough air time in our private & public conversations. Yet nothing gets advanced in the Kingdom without it. And it’s hard to know how to grow courage. Is it a matter of just faithfully turning up? Or is it more gritty than that?
For me courage gets forged by not only following Christ through all seasons of life, but also by taking the plunge into risky, nail biting endeavours that could fail unless God comes through for us.
Kelvin & Sharon epitomised courage when they headed back to Kelvin’s birth city to lead a struggling church into a bright future.
It’s courageous decisions like these that alter our planet for the better.
