We have so much to learn from the African church

My recent trip into Africa left me pondering numerous things.

For instance … why do so many more people go to church in Ghana than Australia? The University of Ghana in Accra has 35,000 students, of which approx half are Christian.

On Sundays they take over the lecture & conference rooms & run 20 church services! Going to church on Sunday I saw people everywhere walking to church with bible in hand!

The Australian church has far more financial resources, publishing power & lots of goodies to do the job yet we see meagre results in comparison. We live more prosperous lives in Oz but our nation has such a spiritual paucity. I am still disturbed by what I saw in Ghana!

Also I saw again how unbelievably blessed we are to live in a nation that is relatively crime free. Our family has been a victim of crime a number of times as we have suffered loss through home break ins & car theft. However it has never caused us to consider emigration.

It breaks my heart so see so many South Africans fleeing the crime in their nation & migrating to safer shores. Australia is truly a land of freedom & opportunity.

C3 Regional Conferences happen around the globe every year.

The first Southern Africa conference wrapped up last night. Our team is starting to turn their minds to the C3 East Africa conference which will rock Uganda next week.

We have conferences in Europe, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Asia, South East Asia & in the land of C3 origins, Australia.

We gather to connect, be envisioned, laugh, receive fresh anointing, get equipped, eat & share battle stories!

Check out all the details at the C3 global web site & come join us some time.

Live interview on Joburg radio

I did a live interview on Joburg radio yesterday.

I have a program on Rainbow FM here in Joburg.

Whilst here I had the opportunity to do a live interview on the drive prime time show with DJ Pastor Ronnie.

We had a chat about C3, family life & radio ministry – it was huge fun & my program (& blog) was given huge exposure to thousands of listeners.

Love radio!

These works are an outstanding scholarly resource.

Gordon Fee’s commentary on Philippians is a part of this series & is the best commentary on that epistle that I have ever used.

Try buying this from Amazon & it will set you back US$368!

Now you can access it for free.

Thanks IVP & Biblegateway.
